Campus
Activities & Excursions
There is always something fun to do at Cushing.
There are a wide variety of active clubs and organizations
on campus for you to be a part of. In addition, the Student
Center is the main location for student activities and its
services, including the bookstore, post office, school bank,
laundry, linen and dry cleaning service, and weekend activity
sign-ups. The Student Center is open seven days a week and
is a place where you can relax, play a video game or pool,
read the paper or get a snack with friends. Weekend activities
include movies on the big screen, dances, concerts, open gym,
skating at the arena as well as special events that include
a wealth of theatre, dance and music performances, deep sea
fishing, ski trips, Winter Carnival, International Evening,
spring fling, Dorm Aid and the prom.
Cushing's central New England location allows
students to take part in many academic excursions as well
as off-campus social activities throughout the year. One tradition
that students always love is Mountain Day, when classes are
cancelled and the entire school climbs nearby Mount Monadnock.
In addition, classes and clubs take outings to historic and
cultural sites throughout New England, including Lexington,
Concord, Salem, Plymouth and sites in Vermont, New Hampshire,
Rhode Island and Connecticut. All of this is within easy reach
of Cushing's campus.
