Our annual Senior Breakfast, which took place on Friday, May 24, is part of the graduating class' important transition into Penguin Nation, our vast alumni network. Director of Alumni and Parent Programs Brett Torrey ’85 urged our soon-to-be graduates to stay connected to one another and involved with the Academy. As we often say at Cushing,
“Once a Penguin, Always a Penguin!"
Our thanks go out to Rich Boyd '14, who served as our inspiring Senior Breakfast speaker. He shared moments where he was forced to overcome adversity and detailed his struggles battling chronic illness while playing Division I college hockey. Rich emphasized the importance of enjoying every moment as a Cushing student and, echoing Brett Torrey, encouraged the Class of 2019 to remain in touch with each other.
Rich joined the ranks of past Senior Breakfast speakers including photographer Cal Bingham ’07, photographer and philanthropist Emily Staub ’94, business owner and Varsity Girls' Ice Hockey coach Valerie Bono ’97, former Alumni Council Chair David Farnham ’77, and businessman Nicholas Benoit ’05.
