The Cushing Academy Dance Program, under the direction of Ms. Rebecca Rice, will present their annual Fall Dance Concert, FUSION, on Thursday, November 7 at 7:30 pm and Friday, November 8 at 8:00 pm in Cowell Chapel.

Students from Cushing’s academic dance classes will present a number of dance works in the styles of Ballet, Modern, Contemporary and Denishawn. Highlights include choreography to a complex percussion score performed by the Advanced Dance Class; an original solo created by Ashleigh Reid '20 to the poetry of renowned writer, Toni Morrison; as well as a historical Denishawn work created in 1930 to Chopin’s “Waltz in A Minor.”
 

Students in the After-School Program were quite prolific in their own choreography this fall and will show work ranging from Chinese-influenced Jazz by Angela Tao '20 and Barbara Wang '20; original Classical Jazz work by Anna Zueva '21; and contemporary choreography by both Chloe Hachey '22 and Bryce Shores '22. Other dancers and choreographers in the program are Marielle Yang '23, Shelly Peng '23, Kyla Keating '22, Emily Vocatura '22, Matisse Schutten-Burgess '23, Lily Shu '20, Tyra Humphreys '22, Jane Harmon '22, Yukina Hiwaki '20, Alexis Macchi '22, Eva Li '21, and Heather Koh '22.
