Cushing Receptions

Cushing hosts a variety of events throughout the world to help build community and engagement with our extended Cushing Nation — current families, alumni, partners, prospective families, and friends of the Academy

Throughout the year — at locations throughout the US and internationally — Cushing hosts events for anyone interested in Cushing Academy: alumni, parents of alumni, current parents and students, partners, and prospective families. Events are a great opportunity to meet with other Penguins and make Cushing connections in your area. We hope to see you soon!

Hockey Night in Ashburnham

Cushing Academy played its first official hockey game on January 14, 1925 against a squad of freshmen from Harvard University.

100 years later, Cushing has won 5 hockey championships and developed more than 300 collegiate players, 9 olympians, and 17 NHL stars.

Between the first two games of the evening, there will be a special commemorative ceremony on the ice — and there may be some special surprises and guest appearances along the way.

Basketball in Beantown

Cushing Boys’ Prep Basketball is headlining the Andrew James Lawson Foundation Invitational at 8:30 pm on January 11, 2025 at TD Garden in Boston, MA.

Before the game against Newman School, we invite you to join us for a reception at West End Johnnie’s (one block from the TD Garden).

Tickets for the reception are $25 and include appetizers and one drink ticket per guest. Under 21 guests may purchase tickets at reduced rate.

Please note: game tickets must be purchased separately from the official Invitational website. Cushing is headlining at 8:30 pm, but Invitational tickets include admission to the entire slate of games at TD Garden on January 11.
